One of my goals for this summer is to avoid the sun. Fuck tanning. Contrary to popular belief, skin cancer is not beautiful. Besides, I cannot stand the heat. At least right now it's not awful, but in a few weeks time, it will no doubt be scorching hot. And then I won't brave the outdoors unless I'm at a beach. Somehow the heat is acceptable when you're next to a body of water.
Anyway, I almost forgot that today's Memorial Day. I feel like I should do something patriotic, but I'm not sure I have a patriotic bone in my body. Instead, I'm reading Infinite Jest, which weighs roughly the safe as a small child. Maybe not even a small one. Though if I end up hating the book, I could always use it as a weapon. You could do serious damage with that thing; I'm sure bones would break if you dropped it on someone. Not that I'd normally endorse using books for violence, but sometimes you have to get creative.
So what's going on tonight? I'm sure there's someone who's using Memorial Day as an excuse to throw a party and get drunk. Not that people really need an excuse but.
